Thorlos and Feetures brands are my go-to socks for tennis and walking. This newer Thorlos model has a good amount of padding under the ball of the foot and helps protect the front of my toes when skidding to a stop. It has a fair amount of arch compression, but not as much as Feetures. None of my Thorlos slip below my narrow heel as the elastic around the ankle holds up to years of washing/drying. Cheap socks will stretch out quickly and do the dreaded under heel slippage. While good athletic socks like these Thorlos are expensive, they are well worth it and will provide years of comfortable wearing.
