First up: I'm a lady. I use these to shave my legs. When I first switched to safety razors from expensive (SO expensive), plastic razors of many varieties that never ceased to end in razor burn for my crazy sensitive skin, I bought a trial pack of blades from my local apothecary and I liked these the most by far.NOTE: do this! You don't know what blades will work best for you without trying out a few first, so I recommend picked up a variety pack if you don't know what brand to buy. Not all brands work for everyone, including this one. That said, I have very sensitive skin that breaks out from just about every irritant, and I have been using these blades now for about 4 years - yes they are sharp, because they are actually high-quality razor blades. That also means they cut fast and evenly. There is a learning curve with safety razors and I still knick myself from time to time, but I have never gotten razor burn in that time. For me, razor burn can last days and get worse as the hair grows back - that does not happen with these at all.Added bonus: CHEAP!! I am still working on the 100 pack I bought 4 years ago. Compare that to online shaving subscriptions that call themselves cheap and send bad blades, those crazy expensive 6-pack shaving heads for plastic razors that all go in the landfill, etc. We're talking $10 for 4 years of (good) shaving. That's insane.I use a safety razor with a good textured handle for soapy grip in the shower/tub, these blades, a proper rose-scented shaving soap (amazon doesn't allow other brands named, but it's in a beige tub and ends with 'umpers'), and a big shaving brush (I don't remember the brand, it was the biggest one my local store sold - I wanted more surface area coverage than a man's face). It works great and I swear my hair doesn't grow back as fast as it did with those crappy razors, probably because it actually cuts it at the skin level vs shreds it weird as you shave upwards. I shave down now btw - with the grain, not against like you have to with bad razors that don't actually cut well. This further helps prevent irritation and razor bumps - I barely ever get razor bumps/ingrown hairs anymore.Hope this helps! I actually still have some razors left, but my husband started using these for his face and likes them, and I'm afraid these will be discontinued since we buy them so infrequently - stocking up!
