Marine Macerators can be a huge problem if they are run dry or operated with a very high load - such as plugged outlet etc. This smart controller protects the boat owner from macerator breakdown and a very nasty replacement process. I installed my Smart Controller to protect against dry running and overload as well as a means to run the macerator at a location where I can hear the operation to be sure it is working normally with a remote switch. If power remains applied to the controller via a circuit breaker, the smart controller will periodically increment the motor a few degrees so that the blades of the impeller do not "take a set" and remain bent down when the macerator is finally used after many months of layup over fall / winter. I strongly recommend this controller for Raritan or other models of macerator.
